Kimpton Alma’s downtown location is right in the center of the city. Neighboring the famed Gaslamp Quarter and historic Balboa Park, our locale is perfect for getting around town via bus, trolley, bike or on foot. While we firmly believe this sunny city is best explored on a long walk, if you need assistance, there are plenty of options. On the downtown San Diego map, we’re centered between Broadway and Fifth Ave, with bus and trolley stops just down the block. And barring traffic, we’re a ten-minute car ride from the San Diego International Airport and a 20-minute ride from the Mexican border. We look forward to showing you around our home.

FRED or “Free Ride Everywhere Downtown" is a fleet of electric shuttles providing transportation to nearby restaurants, boutiques, parks, theaters, and other attractions for up to five passengers. Download “The Free Ride” app to request your ride.

FRED shuttles are available seven days a week:
Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 9:00pm
Friday: 7:00am - 10:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am - 10:00pm
Sunday: 9:00am - 9:00pm
